I occasionally go through the catalina.out for my Hudson installation looking
for exceptions that are repeatedly thrown (such as the NPE that was breaking Hg
polling before my fix). But at ~400Mb (cumulative), this is a pain in the neck,
especially since a common exception may be thrown thousands of times while an
uncommon one just once.
Would be great if there were a library to collect uncaught exceptions thrown in
servlets (e.g. a java.util.logging.Handler), collate by stack trace prefix, and
either display summaries in an admin screen or (at the user's option) submit
them anonymously to a public database.
