After upgrading the Grails plugin to 1.7 from 1.6.3 the same problem arises at our installation. We use Grails 2.2.0.

There are now changelog for 1.7:
          https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Grails+Plugin

So it is impossible to see what is changed.

It is not possible to downgrade to plugin version 1.6.3 via the update center - so at the moment we are stuck

          Mohamed Ali BEN TAHER:
To temporary getting it to work:

Set grails.work.dir in config for the job to:
          C:/Program Files/Jenkins/jobs/GrailsTest/workspace/target
