      Description

I am able to checkout using svn command line while logged in a jenkins user.
I have setup credentials for my user in Jenkins.
The configuration is able to detect the svn url exists by changing url to an path that does not exist and then back to the original. So the project configuration works with the saved credential.

      Using Jenkins Subversion plugin 2.4.4.
      Credentials Plugin v1.10

All Jenkins jobs were getting svn updates but then I started to get these errors:

Our projects reside in SVN Cloudforge and I am able to connect via the svn command line and at Jenkins job configuration. So I don't know why the Jenkins build is not able to then checkout / update an existing working copy. It was working before but now since Monday it is getting this error. Are there some logs that will give me more information?

May be Poodle aftermath. I'd check for recent changes to the server, cert, or your Jenkins installation related to SSLv3 support/security issues.

Jenkins is not using the SVN command line client, and instead uses SVNKit. So that tells us almost nothing.

          Jenkins ver. 1.585
I updated Jenkins from 1.552 but the errors existed in both versions. I had 1.552 running for months and then started getting these ssl errors yesterday.

Svnkit is able to connect to the SVN Cloudforge repository. I have removed the credential that the Job was using and I get a connection error. I then create a simple username / password credential and then the job configuration detects that the svn path exists and I am able to save the configuration change.
The problem is always happens when either I want to build a project or it does a subversion polling. That is when I get these errors.
So I would think SVNKit uses the same method to access the SVN repository either it be a job configuration or job build.
I am running the Jenkins Slave as a windows service and it does all the builds.

On SVNkit.com, the library download includes the `jsvn` tool that is a pure SVNKit implementation of the `svn` command line client. Could you try to `jsvn checkout` with that?

          Daniel,
Solved the problem your diagnosis of ssl problems and then using jsvn got me to thinking about the jnlp file that launches the Jenkins Slave Windows Service.
I dropped the extra argument -Dsvnkit.http.sslProtocols="SSLv3"
so in the jnlp this does not work:
          <!-- arguments>-Xrs -Dsvnkit.http.sslProtocols="SSLv3" -jar "%BASE%\slave.jar" -jnlpUrl http://10.80.66.189:8080/computer/SlvBld01/slave-agent.jnlp -secret fsdfasdfasdfasdfasdfsadfasdfsdfasdfsdfsadf</arguments>
          but this now does:
          <!-- arguments>-Xrs -jar "%BASE%\slave.jar" -jnlpUrl http://10.80.66.189:8080/computer/SlvBld01/slave-agent.jnlp -secret fsdfasdfasdfasdfasdfsadfasdfsdfasdfsdfsadf</arguments>

          Thanks for your help.

I dropped the extra argument -Dsvnkit.http.sslProtocols="SSLv3" so in the jnlp this does not work: <!-- arguments>-Xrs -Dsvnkit.http.sslProtocols="SSLv3" -jar "%BASE%\slave.jar" -jnlpUrl http://10.80.66.189:8080/computer/SlvBld01/slave-agent.jnlp -secret fsdfasdfasdfasdfasdfsadfasdfsdfasdfsdfsadf</arguments> but this now does: <!-- arguments>-Xrs -jar "%BASE%\slave.jar" -jnlpUrl http://10.80.66.189:8080/computer/SlvBld01/slave-agent.jnlp -secret fsdfasdfasdfasdfasdfsadfasdfsdfasdfsdfsadf</arguments> Thanks for your help. This looks to be a problem with the Windows Based Jenkins Slave:

open a command line window cmd.exe
sc qc "JenkinsSlave" (if that's what your service name is)
select and copy the BINARY_PATH_NAME value
change it, adding -Dsvnkit.http.sslProtocols=""TLSv1"" after the jar path - mind the double quote
sc config "JenkinsSlave" binPath= <paste the changed value copied earlier>
Replace JenkinsSlave with your service name.

then restart jenkins webapp with the following arg:
          -Dsvnkit.http.sslProtocols="TLSv1"
