Upgrade to checkstyle v6.5 to support new ignoreAnnotationCanonicalNames property

      Description

I need to use the property ignoreAnnotationCanonicalNames for VisibilityModifier check, to ignore fields with particular annotations. It was introduced with version 6.5 (http://checkstyle.sourceforge.net/releasenotes.html#Release_6.5).

Any chance you can bump the used checkstyle version to at least 6.5? Or can I somehow change the used checkstyle version myself?

You can use any version of Checkstyle since the plug-in only renders the results of the Checkstyle process. So if your build script supports checkstyle 6.5 then these results will be shown in Jenkins UI.
