The current HipChat Publisher implementation does not support HipChat Plugin >= 1.x. The author of the HipChat Plugin informed me the configuration format has changed and the DSL would need to be updated to support the new version (see linked GitHub discussion). The HipChat plugin provides backwards compatibility for < 1.x configuration options, but that version of the plugin does not support the same feature-set (of which I am interested in) of the latest version.
