The unity plugin is installed but unchecked in the manage plugins page. Any attempt to enabled the plugin and restarting jenkins causes jenkins to hang on the 'Please wait while Jenkins is restarting.

The only way to recover is to stop the Jenkins service from the linux console, then restarting the service. At which time the Unity 3D plugin will be disabled in the Manage Plugins page.
