While scanning a bitbucket project, the plugin opens many concurrent HTTP connections. When the server has a limit for the maximum number of connections, scans may fail due to exceeding this limit.

For example a large project with ~30 repositories, each with 2-3 branches will take upwards of 500 concurrent connections to scan. This seems overly excessive.
