We're using the ldap-plugin to connect Jenkins to an IBM LDAP.

The user can login, so the actual configuration seems to be ok. But when trying to test the connection, it tells us that name and email resolution is not working:
 
User lookup: successful
Display name inconsistent (login null versus lookup Carsten Hilber)
Email address inconsistent (login null versus lookup CHilber@vhv.de)
User groups consistent (login and lookup)
 
The configured values are ok, we double checked them.
