We moved from perforce-plugin to p4-plugin and noticed our exclusion paths were not working properly.  Our perforce setup is case insensitive and there can be lots of variation in casing from one file's path to the next.  Without this feature I don't know of any workaround other than enumerating every possible casing of the path - which isn't very feasible.

Perhaps rather than adding an option the plugin could determine if the depot is case insensitive or not?  Not sure if that's possible but then things would work automatically in both cases the way you would expect.
