Please explain the conditions which cause that message to appear in your logs and why you believe that is critical.

The stack trace shows that the git plugin is requesting the head revision of the remote repository. It calls git ls-remote to request the head revision. That is an authenticated call. Are the correct credentials provided to the Jenkins job? If not, does the problem resolve itself when correct credentials are provided?

Is the Jenkins server reporting that so frequently that it is exhausting file descriptors and causing the Jenkins process to crash?

What version of command line git are you using?

What operating system and version is hosting the Jenkins instance?

Is the hosting operating system current with most recent patches?

Refer to "How to report an issue" for more details of the type of information needed in a bug report.
