The vsphere configuration including the credentials (which use the credentials plugin) have to be set at the jenkins master level. But we are part of a big enterprise and have credentials configured at folder level (folder plugin) rather than at the global level. This is for security reasons we cannot avoid.

If there was an option to either configure the vsphere plugin at folder level or just be simply able to provide the creds to be used at the job level (in which case the credentials scoped at the folder level will be available for selection) at the vsphere build step, it would have been great.
