I'm using Jenkins ver. 1.509.2 and noticed under Jenkins --> People, I have a 'root' user. Not sure what created that user. If I delete that user, it re-appears in a few minutes. I'd like to permanently get rid of the 'root' user. Any idea what process is creating that root user and how to permanently get rid of it.

The app is run as user 'jenkins'. I started off by using LDAP and then disabled LDAP, because IT said the root user had failed login attempts against AD. I've now configured it to use 'Jenkins's own user database ', but I still see the 'root' user re-appearing after deleting it.

I’d like to switch back to LDAP.

Tried unchecking the LDAP plugin, deleted root user, restarted jenkins - and the 'root' user re-appears.

Under ‘Manage Users’ I do not see the ‘root’ user. It just shows up under the ‘People’.

We have another jenkins server, but it does not have the root user issue.
