Please add an option for uncompressed cloning

      Description

Mercurial automatically compresses data when cloning over network. However, on a fast LAN, this takes much longer than cloning with --uncompressed. Please add an option to the Mercurial plugin to allow using "hg clone --uncompressed" on a per job basis.

Hmm, I wonder where you got this information from. Never heard of such a restriction.

did you try to use uncompressed for some readonly repo?

Please define "read-only repo". For me, that's a repo where the cloning user doesn't have write access as configured per Mercurial ACL extension.

yes, or, if using just plain ssh access to the remote mercurial repo, where cloning user only has read access

Closing in favor of JENKINS-5723 which provides this ability and others more generically (but gives the syntax for uncompressed cloning in the inline help as an example).
