      Description

I am using Artifact deployer plugin to copy artifacts to a network location.
i have enabled the option of delete the remote directory before deployment ,everything was working fine since last few days the Job which performs this operation has started failing with below error message
[ArtifactDeployer] - [ERROR] - Failed to deploy. Can't delete contents of '
      networklocation.....(removed the actual directory name)'
[ArtifactDeployer] - [ERROR] - remote file operation failed: '
networklocation.....(removed the actual directory name)' at hudson.remoting.Channel@ea4c81:CI_RELEASE_BRANCH

I have not changed anything since then and once i delete the directory manually the job succeeds , and i have no idea how to debug this issue as logs are not giving enough information .

          Do you update

          • Jenkins version?
          • plugin version?
          • Java version?

Maybe you have changes the target slave or so on.

          Jenkins Version =1.479
          plugin version = .27
          Java version=1.7.0_07

I have not changed any target slave or anything , as i mentioned as before deploying the artifacts i have set to clean the target directory , if i do that step manually the job succeeds and this problem has started happening suddenly so something must have gone wrong either at my end or may be in plugin itself.

I have difficulty managing the 'Delete' option because I don't have control on the external Jenkins infrastructure.
I suggest not using this option and I would remove it in next versions.
