We like to use reference clones for our builds. We use bare repos as the reference target.

When attempting to replace a workspace prep script with a jenkins git plugin, we discovered that the reference path was being derived as if the source repo was a regular repo, e.g. .git\objects\info\alternates was set to G:\repo.git\.git\objects. This is wrong.
