I am just logging the RFE from Vivek, thought it would be useful.

Artifacts produced by Maven always have version number. Though this is useful,
it is little more for build systems not using Maven to update their scripts to
update the version number of the dependencies. If there is a option/plugin in
Hudson to also generate version number less artifacts, it would be useful for
the dependent projects and they can always use the latest artifacts from the
maven build without any changes.
