It would be interesting to have a permanent host in the cloud as stash/unstash-storage. 

Another alternative would be a cluster-filesystem which is mounted on all nodes. So stash/unstash-storage would be a simple folder on a host. An the cluster-filesystem would take care of efficient replication. Ok we could then use the cluster-filesystem directly without stash/unstash - but then the pipeline would be less portable.
