Hudson should allow users to checkout source code from the master server and send the code to a slave for build. Currently with Hudson the slave has to have access to the SCM tool in order to get the source code. With our current environments our Linux servers can't use our SCM tool but our windows one can. Team City has this feature and it's handy for such situations. We currently use Hudson and I have to write custom scripts to get around this issue. not very familiar with Java to write a hudson plug-in.
